34-year-old Sarah Harris told police the meth she used made her feel as if she was about to have a heart attack. Harris said she and a friend used the drug on January 10th and then started to feel bad after taking more later that night. Police then visited her Bedford home on a wellness check.
Five people were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries, after their vehicle was rear-ended by a truck on the Indiana Toll Road Monday night. Just after 8 p.m. east of the Notre Dame exit on I-80/94, Indiana State Police say a vehicle, with 5 passengers heading west, slowed. A straight truck rear-ended that vehicle and sent it into the guardrail then spinning back into the westbound lanes.

The pilot who was killed in a Tippecanoe County small plane crash last week was identified as a 20-year-old Purdue student, the coroner confirmed Wednesday. The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office identified Alexander Foss of Minnesota as the person who died after a small plane crash near Lafayette.
"SPARK on the Circle" is returning to downtown Indianapolis this year. In its second year, the temporary greenspace will also open one month earlier in 2024, running from June 1 through Nov. 3. Downtown Indy, Inc. says this year's version will be re-located to the northwest quadrant of Monument Circle, and feature "contemporary seating, synthetic turf, and vending services as well as free weekly programming including live music, arts, culture opportunities, and games,"
Following his retirement as a player, Erskine returned to his native Indiana. He became a leader in the community, participating in numerous organizations and businesses, including rising to the presidency of the Star Bank of Anderson, Indiana, before easing back to the role of vice chairman of the board. Erskine was a fierce champion of human rights, racial equality and, when his late son Jimmy was born with Down syndrome, became immersed in fighting for people with special needs. Jimmy died in 2023 at the age of 63. The Carl and Betty Erskine Society was formed by Erskine in order to raise money for the Special Olympics in which he has been involved for more than 40 years.
