STATEWIDE – This holiday weekend, State Police are once again reminding you to “drive sober or get pulled over,” as more officers will be on duty.

You may be one of many Hoosiers getting a three-day weekend because of Labor Day.  If so, expect to see more cops on the road, as State Police plan to “increase patrols.”

The organization says it is hoping “to crack down on those driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.” Officers say many traffic-related deaths in 2023 involved drugs or alcohol (about 25% involved drugs/about 20% involved alcohol).

So, if you plan to party this weekend, you are encouraged to have a designated driver with you, hire an Uber or Lyft, or use public transportation to get home at the end of the day.
