Biden Calls Ukraine President Zelensky ‘President Putin’ in Front of NATO
We can’t make this stuff up… just HOURS before President Joe Biden’s “big boy press conference,” the leader of the free world introduced Ukraine’s President as “President Putin” in front of the entire world.
Thursday evening President Biden was speaking to The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, already a risky move, when he referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin.” He confused Zelensky with the Russian tyrant who has been invading his homeland for the past two-and-a-half years.
“And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.”
As the president was walking away from the podium, he realized what he had said. He was quick to try and make a joke, but the room (and the world) knew it wasn’t.
“President Putin? We’re going to beat President Putin – President Zelensky. I’m so focused on beating Putin, we got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President.”
Zelensky tried to alleviate the awkwardness by stating off mic, “I’m better” before shaking Biden’s hand. Biden assured agreeing, “you are a hell of a lot better.”
Those in attendance included leaders of 19 other nations such as Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The gathering was to announce the signing of the Ukraine Compact, a new security agreement between Kyiv and NATO.
We wonder how safe Zelensky is feeling now?
