Fire at an Auto Salvage Yard on Indy’s West Side

INDIANAPOLIS — Firefighters worked for about an hour Wednesday morning to put out a huge fire at Zore’s Auto Salvage on the west side of Indianapolis.
It happened on North Mickley Avenue, near West 16th Street and Cunningham Road, around 9:30 a.m.
The Wayne Township Fire Department said on social media, “Firefighters faced challenges due to the high temperatures from both the summer sun and the burning metal.”
Firefighters are looking into the cause of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
If you’re working outside during hot days, firefighters urge you to drink plenty of water and take breaks. If you also see the elderly struggling outside in the heat, it’s a good idea to check on them and offer to help.
