INDIANAPOLIS — A kindergarten teacher at Colonial Christian School on the north side of Indianapolis is facing charges for having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

23-year-old Torrie Lemon was identified after an employee at the school told IMPD on April 10th about a suspected inappropriate relationship between Lemon and the girl during a school trip to South Carolina. The Indiana Department of Child Servcies and officers in Greenville, South Carolina were also notified about this.

According to court documents, a Greenville officer talked to Lemon and the student. Lemon admitted they were “in an inappropriate relationship” that had lasted for about two months. The student corroborated receiving messages from Lemon and had a video of them kissing on her phone. When asked about the relationship, Lemon said it started off as a friendship that “escalated” to hugging, holding, and a kiss on the cheek.

However, the student told officers that she only wanted a friendship with Lemon and not a sexual relationship. She also said they had sex at both of their homes.

During the trip, Lemon was placed on leave and directed to return to Indiana, while the student’s parents picked her up and brought her back home to Fishers.

Court documents say Lemon moved back to New Hampshire on April 16th, declining to be interviewed by police without an attorney. Lemon moved from New Hampshire to Indiana in the fall of 2024.

Lemon was charged with child seduction, and her employment with Colonial Christian School was terminated.

The school is urging parents and students to report any concerns they may have.
