INDIANAPOLIS–A woman who was driving on English Ave. on the southeast side of Indianapolis, spun out Monday morning and ended up going 20 ft. down the bank and into Pleasant Run Creek.

That happened just after 8 a.m.

Both a witness and the woman herself called 911.

The dispatcher stayed on the phone with the woman and helped keep her safe while the water rushed around the car, rising inside. The woman was eventually able to get out and onto the roof.

Firefighters had to saw through a fence to get to her. When they did they got her a life jacket and she waited on the roof.

By 8:30 they had made their way to the woman and had gotten her safely off the car and onto the creek bank.

The car was eventually lifted from the creek and the woman was not hurt.
