INDIANAPOLIS — Monday will start cool and dry, with temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Clouds will slowly increase throughout the day, but most areas should remain dry and pleasant, with highs climbing to the mid to lower 70s. A few isolated showers may develop late Monday afternoon in western counties.

Scattered showers and storms are expected to move in Monday night into early Tuesday as a warm front pushes through, with some heavy rain and temperatures holding in the mid-50s.

This system will bring widespread rain and heavy downpours overnight Monday through Tuesday morning, increasing the risk of flooding in areas that experience repeated heavy rain.

Severe storms are possible Tuesday afternoon, especially across southern Indiana. These storms could produce damaging winds, hail, and even a chance of tornadoes. High temperatures Tuesday will reach the upper 60s to low 70s.

Cooler air moves in Wednesday and will remain through the rest of the week. Spotty showers and breezy conditions are expected Wednesday and Thursday before stable, dry weather returns Friday and continues through race day on Sunday.
