True Crime Tuesday: Nichole Rice trial for Murder of Anita Knutson

In 2022, Nichole Rice, was arrested and charged with felony murder in the death of Anita Knutson, who was found stabbed to death on June 4, 2007.
At the time of the murder, the two women were roommates. Their friends said the two had a strained relationship, with one friend claiming that Rice told Knutson, “One way or another I’m going to get you out of this house.”
Knutson’s body was found by her father, who came to the apartment after his daughter failed to show up to work and did not answer multiple calls. Despite evidence at the scene indicating the murder was committed by someone with access to the home and was not motivated by theft, it took nearly 15 years for police to make an arrest in the case.
The trial for Rice, 37, began on Tuesday, March 18, with prosecutors saying they would provide evidence showing Rice killed her roommate nearly two decades ago, KFYR reports.
On March 26, Rice was found not guilty.
Doug Kouns, former FBI agent and founder of Veracity IIR, spent two days testifying as an expert witness in a highly publicized cold case murder trial of Nichole Rice from 2007 in Minot, North Dakota. Doug joins Kendall and Casey for True Crime Tuesday to discuss the trial.
