FRANKFORT, Ind.–A Frankfort High School teacher is on administrative leave and is in trouble with the law, accused of communicating inappropriately with a student.

Drew Akridge, 27, who is a math teacher and an assistant football coach, was charged Monday with two low-level felonies, including dissemination of material harmful to minors and attempt to commit possession of child pornography.

The school district said he has been placed on leave as of Sunday.

Akridge was taken to jail on a “no bond” warrant.

A probable cause document shown to WISH TV said that a student came forward about a relationship with Akridge after a cyber-awareness presentation April 4. She told police that Akriodge sent an explicit video via Snapchat and requested one back.

The girl was 17 at the time.
