INDIANAPOLIS –A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a shooting that left two people dead and another injured on the near northwest side of Indianapolis Sunday night.

IMPD officers were called to the 1400 block of West 27th Street around 8 p.m. and found three men who had been shot. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, another died after being taken to the hospital, and the third was also taken for treatment.

IMPD says the shooting stemmed from a disturbance inside a residence involving a gun exchange. During the incident, shots were fired, injuring the three victims.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency and the Marion County Coroner’s Office assisted IMPD with the investigation. Detectives believe they have accounted for all involved parties.

IMPD’s William Young emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts without resorting to violence: “Folks have got to understand how to resolve that without picking up a firearm or a knife…do whatever you can to not have it result in this.”
