3-Year-Old Indiana Girl Found in Ohio

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Oh. — Police found a three-year-old girl in Ohio early Thursday after she went missing in January.
Officers say they found the girl at an Aldi near Martin Luther King Drive and Kinsman Road. They say she went missing in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The mother told police she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, and then he ran off with their daughter.
Officers told the mother that she had to prove that the father didn’t have any custodial rights, which was why it took a long time to report this case. The girl was then reported missing around 2:30 Monday afternoon.
Officers identified the man as 31-year-old Shaquille Thomas, and he was pulled over near I-271 and Chagrin Boulevard Wednesday.
Thomas was found Wednesday carrying a gun, and he was taken to Cuyahoga County Jail.
Officers say the mother will soon reunite with her daughter. They say the girl is still healthy and safe.
