It’s getting ugly between the US and Ukraine. President Trump is working to get a peace deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war, and Volodymyr Zelensky is pushing back on the conditions of a possible peace deal. Zelensky has initially rejected continued US support for their rare earth minerals:

Zelensky offered his resignation in exchange for NATO membership, which is non-negotiable from the Russian side.

Could this war continue without continued US Support? Major Mike Lyons joins Tony Katz Today to discuss.

Major Mike Lyons:

I’ve looked back a little bit in history and you know the hate for Russia runs very deep, especially in Kiev, especially in places on, on the eastern portion of that country of what memories go back to Stalin and, and the famine and what, what Stalin did to the Ukrainian population back in the 1930s. And they just haven’t forgotten that it was a Holocaust from their perspective. And so maybe the Ukrainian government and the people aren’t willing to throw in the towel yet. And I think I think that’s what Zelinsky might be saying, and he’s being out shouted by people like Donald Trump and the administration that are basically saying we’ve had enough killing, we’ve had enough warfare, we’re not taking it anymore and we’re going to do anything we can to stop it.
