JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind.–A man from Indiana is accused of killing his wife on Valentine’s Day by stabbing her 40 times with a knife.
Investigators say Taylor Meyer of Jeffersonville had suspected that his wife Deborah was having an affair with a co-worker, so he tried to salvage their relationship with a romantic gesture that was “Paris-themed” on February 14. Court documents say Taylor had his children draw pictures of the Eiffel Tower, but Taylor claimed Deborah acted as if she didn’t care.
There was an argument between the two of them and a fight came after that. Police say the evidence shows that Taylor hit Deborah in the head with a wine bottle before stabbing her in the chest about 40 times.
Their children were unharmed. They were asleep upstairs when all of this was happening, say investigators.
After Deborah was killed, police say Taylor took a picture of Deborah’s body with her phone and sent it to her boyfriend with the caption that read “Your fault.”
Taylor Meyer pled not guilty on Tuesday. He was arrested and is being held without bond. His trial begins July 15.
