Toxic Masculinity Is A Lie, Masculinity Is Good

So how did Day 1 of CPAC go? JD Vance and Elon Musk had memorable appearances. Tony Katz joined Craig Collins on the morning show to discuss:

Tony Katz:

The JD Vance speech was attended, but not full. The Elon Musk speech, people were standing room only.

Craig Collins:

Wow. Yeah, I know Elon Musk said that he wanted to bring comedy back or he wanted to make it legal again, I think among quite a few other things, the JD Vance conversation… there was something I took out of that. And I wonder if you got this from any of those high school kids. He said that young men deserve to behave like young men. They don’t have to feel like the villain. And I do think JD Vance, at least in that moment, is echoing something that probably helped conservatives get a lot of younger votes that they didn’t get in the past saying that the bad guy is not you based on your gender or anything else. Was there any reaction to that at all? Or is that something that’s mostly just, I guess noticed by me but not being covered a lot out there?

Tony Katz:

I think that’s something that’s talked about by this crowd quite a bit. Toxic masculinity is a lie. Masculinity is good. There’s a difference between women and men and women are different and these are good things. These are good traits that both can bring to a relationship… good traits for people to have to not be ashamed of who they are.

Tony also talks about Elon Musk, Ukraine, and Steve Bannon’s bad optics move.
