Tony Katz:

I thought it was a very, very smart take, and clearly Ed Morrissey did as well, that you take a look at everything we’re discussing regarding President Trump, all the things regarding the administration. All the things about the first 100 days and how the speed at which things are going, the success with which Trump is moving things down the line. Even those people who are suing him, he just keeps going to keep going. He’s got other things operationally that are working. It was an interesting question asked by Newsmax and asked by the Washington Examiner. Noted by Ed Morrissey over at hotair.com. Where is the resistance that was so famous from the Democrats? … It’s a fascinating point that you’re making: Dems Disappointment Jeffries Is No Resistance Barbie. That’s the piece that you that you wrote towards the tail end of last week. Talk to me about what you saw there from Newsmax and, and the Washington Examiner and how that connected with your own thoughts.

Ed Morrissey:

Well, first off, I think that it’s expecting a little much. For Hakeem Jeffries to be a new leader of the same law resistance when the political environment is much different than it was eight years ago. Eight years ago, Donald Trump, there was a dispute as to, you know, whether how legitimate Donald Trump’s victory was. He had lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton was suggesting that the counts were off in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, and that Donald Trump was a Russian agent, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. All that stuff that was going on 8 years ago sort of gave an opening for Democrats and especially the radical Democrats to declare Donald Trump illegitimate and to form this resistance, which started on Inauguration Day.

Well, this time around, there’s no dispute that Donald Trump won the election. He won it pretty handily. He won the popular vote. He won all seven of the swing states that we were looking at. Uh, nobody really disputes that, and nobody really disputes the fact that he has a mandate to make a lot of different changes… But the other thing too is that they’re (the left) not going to have the resources… Elon Musk is dismantling this sort of archipelago of money laundering that’s coming out of the federal government that goes to support, you know supposed non-governmental organizations, which basically then fund activists, which then support Democrats.
