INDIANAPOLIS — A man wanted for armed robbery was arrested last week while trying to enter a building.
Police say a search of Darrell Cole’s car turned up 140 grams of drugs—including crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, synthetic cannabis (spice), and fentanyl—as well as two rifles, two stolen handguns (one previously reported stolen), and other evidence.
Court documents filed Monday in Marion County show Cole faces multiple charges: dealing narcotics with intent to sell more than 10 grams (Level 2 felony), dealing cocaine with intent to sell 5 to 10 grams (Level 2 felony), and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (Level 4 felony).
According to a Facebook post from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, robbery detectives reached out to the east district to help locate Cole, who had an active armed robbery warrant tied to a January 2 incident on the east side.
Police found Cole walking into his apartment building and attempted to arrest him. The post said Cole resisted commands, leading to a brief struggle before officers took him into custody. A loaded handgun was found on him.
