Indiana Pacers Guard Bennedict Mathurin Suspended for One Game
NEW YORK—Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin was suspended for one game without pay Wednesday night for making inappropriate contact and verbally abusing an official.
The incident happened Tuesday night with 3:58 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Pacers 127-117 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Video shows him bumping into and yelling at the official after he was charged with a foul.
The NBA says Mathurin will serve his suspension on Thursday when the Pacers visit the Detroit Pistons.
The suspension will cost him $41,642.
He’s averaging 16.5 points in 41 games this season.
