STATEWIDE– Indiana Republican Party Chair Randy Head resigned Monday morning effective immediately after being on the job for a little more than five months.
He says he needs to focus on his full-time duties at Krieg DeVault. Vice Chair Erin Lucas will be the lead chair in the interim.
Here is the full statement from Head:
“It has been the honor of my life to serve as chairman of the Indiana Republican Party for the past five months. In that time, we have achieved remarkable success, including electing a new Republican governor, lieutenant governor, and senator, as well as re-electing our Republican attorney general. We also celebrated victories down the ballot, maintaining our supermajorities in both the House and Senate.
“I want to thank Governor-elect Mike Braun for trusting me with this role. It has truly been an honor. I also want to thank Krieg DeVault for allowing me to step away from my professional responsibilities to serve the party during this crucial time. Finally, I want to extend my gratitude to the hardworking staff at Indiana GOP headquarters. Their dedication and effort made it possible for us to exceed every fundraising benchmark and deliver these historic results.
“I’m not going anywhere. I will continue to serve on the Indiana Republican State Committee as the 4th District chair, and I look forward to working with Governor-elect Mike Braun and the State Committee to select my successor.
“Thank you to every Republican who placed their trust in me—it has been an honor to serve you.”
