ALLEN COUNTY, IND — Joseph Corcoran, convicted of killing four people, including his brother, in 1997, was at the center of a courthouse rally Saturday in Allen County.

WANE-TV reports that a group gathered, urging Governor Holcomb to halt Corcoran’s execution. Organized by Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren, the rally called on Holcomb to use his clemency powers before leaving office.

“Corcoran’s paranoid schizophrenia means he doesn’t understand his crime or punishment,” the church posted on Facebook. “Even if you support the death penalty, this is not legal!”

“This is Holcomb’s chance to define his legacy,” church leaders added.
