COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 28 Maryland at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.–The Indiana Hoosier football team is ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since Week 1 of the 2021 college football season. They are ranked 23rd.

Indiana is 5-0 for the first time since 1967. Their most recent victory was a 42-28 triumph over Maryland on Saturday. That makes them 2-0 in the Big Ten.

IU’s Head Football Coach Curt Cignetti brought in 54 new players from last winter through the summer and has helped key the program’s turnaround after going 3-9 last season.

More than 48,000 people attended Saturday’s win for Indiana at Memorial Stadium.

Indiana has been playing football for 126 seasons. 2024 is just the 21st season in program history where IU has been ranked in any way.

The next game for the Hoosiers is October 5th against Northwestern (2-2, 0-1 in the Big Ten). Kickoff is at 3:30 pm on 93.5 and 107.5 The Fan.

The other team from Indiana that’s ranked is Notre Dame at 14th.

Alabama has taken over the top spot at #1 followed by Texas, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia rounding out the top five.
