INDIANAPOLIS — If you are a parent, you may picture a time when going to school only involved a simple car trip. Well, State Police say they arrested two kids this week for making threats against schools.

Indianapolis officers believe a 12- and 15-year-old were responsible for the threats, and both were arrested following an investigation.

They did not specify which schools had been targeted, but they did note that the incidents were not connected. A third threat was apparently investigated but found to be “unsubstantiated.”

ISP Lieutenant Josh Watson says, “School safety is among our highest priorities, and we will continue to work…to ensure our children are safe in their schools.”

Unfortunately, these are not isolated situations.

Another 12-year-old was arrested and charged with felony intimidation this week in Jeffersonville, after police learned of threats involving River Valley Middle School and Parkview Middle School.

And, a teenager in Richmond was arrested for posting a threat on Snapchat, according to reports Thursday. Other arrests this week for similar crimes happened in Marion, Anderson, and more.
