This ambitious $34.8 million project on Interstate 65 is not just a facility for weary travelers; it’s an architectural marvel that embodies the spirit of Indiana’s natural landscapes and vibrant culture.

The Kankakee Welcome Center is part of the Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) visionary 10-year initiative to revamp 21 out of 26 welcome facilities across the state by 2030.

This project is designed to transform these spaces from mere pit stops into engaging destinations.

With a sprawling 11,304-square-foot area, the center stands as Indiana’s largest and most expensive welcome center to date.
