The 167th Indiana State Fair begins today and it will be full of all kinds of summertime fun throughout the next 15 days.

This year’s theme is The Art & Nature of Fun featuring unique art displays inside the Harvest Pavilion and throughout the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center.

There will also be some free concerts you can intend, starting with Foghat performing on the free stage at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Foghat is replacing Three Dog Night, who was previously scheduled to perform tonight.

Tomorrow, there will be a celebration to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles playing their shows at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 1964. There will be a special matinee show at 2 p.m. on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage that will feature Beatles tribute band Hard Days Night. There will also be a special evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on the same stage featuring the great Tony Kishman. Tony starred for six years in both the national and international tours of Broadway’s smash hit musical, ‘Beatlemania’ and also performs in the International Symphonic Beatles production, ‘Classical Mystery Tour’.

It wouldn’t be the Indiana State Fair without it’s colorful food menu. The Fair’s annual “Taste of the Fair” contest is back, bringing several colorful entries to the Fairground from Aug. 2-18. The 43-dish lineup features carnival classics like deep-fried Golden Oreos and fried ice cream.
