Colts fans holding out hope that the team could still bring back wide receiver T.Y. Hilton at some point this season got a tough pill to swallow Wednesday afternoon. The banner picture of Hilton outside Lucas Oil Stadium is now accompanied with the message “Thank You For The Memories”, something that had not been there previously.

It appears the Colts have officially closed the door on any sort of reunion with Hilton, who has been the face of the wide receiving group since Reggie Wayne departed the team in 2014. If he’s truly done with the team, Hilton finishes his 10-year career playing only for the Colts and amassing 631 receptions, 9,691 yards and 53 touchdowns. He sits third all-time in Indianapolis Colts record books behind Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne in catches and receptions and fourth in touchdowns behind Harrison, Wayne and Raymond Berry.
The four-time Pro Bowler remains a free agent and has not filed any retirement papers with the league office that we’re aware of, meaning if he does decide to play in 2022 or down the line it will likely be for another NFL franchise.
