(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indianapolis Public Library is asking the community to help give the gift of reading.
The “Jingle Books” program began in 2016, and despite a pandemic cancellation last year, has given kids seven-thousand books since.
Interim library CEO John Helling says while the library hopes kids will get and use their own library cards, there’s something special about having books of your own on the nightstand. He says the program can instill a lifelong love of reading for kids who might not otherwise have books around.
You can drop off or pick up a new or gently used children’s book at any library branch through December 23. Gift wrapping is available.
