STATEWIDE — More schools are moving to online learning as the number of people coming down with coronavirus continues to climb.

Center Grove Community schools are moving middle and high school students to virtual learning starting on Wednesday.

This decision comes as Center Grove schools had seven positive cases reported on Saturday and Sunday, along with six other cases announced Monday afternoon. More than 80 students were identified as close contacts to those who tested positive, the district said.

Beech Grove High School is also going virtual as nine students in the district there have tested positive this week. All athletic practices, competitions, and extracurricular activities for K-12 students were canceled until further notice.

Both changes will be reviewed at the end of the week, according to the district.

In Lafayette, McCutcheon High School has gone virtual and suspended all athletic practices and contests until Nov. 29. Their plan is to return to in-person learning by Nov. 30.

“TSC’s best chance for maintaining in-person school is to be diligent in our collective prevention efforts and to recruit enough personnel to help us cover staff shortages,” Tippecanoe School Corp. Supt. Scott Hanback wrote in a letter to parents.
