WIBC host Tony Katz just doubled down on his most outrageous election prediction yet: Joe Biden will not be the Democrats’ nominee for President.

Katz’s logic boils down to this: Biden is not going to debate Trump, and if Biden does not debate Trump, he cannot win.
Katz:
“It is very obvious and very clear that the Democratic party is trying to figure out a way not to get Biden to debate. This is what they are doing.
“We had at first the Thomas Friedman piece in the New York Times, which claimed that in order for Biden to debate, he needed Trump’s tax returns. Why are Trump’s tax returns necessary? I don’t know what those two things have in common. In fact, the only reason to put forth that requirement is to create a barrier.
“The other pre-debate requirement put forth by Friedman was a ‘fact-checker in real-time.’ I’m fine with that and I imagine Trump is too, but do you think Joe Biden wants a real-time fact-checker?
“But the tax returns was the main ‘requirement’ that Friedman suggested, and that’s to prevent the debate from happening.
“So that piece in the New York Times was the first step in laying the groundwork to prevent a debate. Then just the other day, Joe Lockhart, the former White House press secretary for Bill Clinton, saying all the same things.”
Lockhart made his argument in an op-ed for CNN, advising Biden, “Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump. Trump has made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat from Republicans and the media for skipping the debates. But it’s worth the risk as trying to debate someone incapable of telling the truth is an impossible contest to win.”

The former press secretary elaborated on his position during an appearance on CNN in which he argued that many polls are unfavorable for Trump and “every quantitative signal and historical precedent points to a surefire loss for the President in November.”
Lockhart cautioned, however, that Biden could still lose, but it would largely have to be a self-inflicted injury. And let’s face it: Biden is frequently reduced to an incoherent mass of generic-brand gelatin in interviews – even the ones that are conducted on liberal-friendly turf.
Katz:
“Lockhart’s position is an indirect way of saying, ‘Joe Biden is not up to the task.’
“And finally, you have the New York Times with another article – this time arguing that we should do away with debates altogether.
“It is obvious that the left is not putting forth an artful and well-reasoned argument against holding the debates, they’re trying to protect Joe Biden – we see you! You can’t sell us on this, and it’s why I have said from the beginning that if Joe Biden does not debate, he cannot win.”
