BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — On Friday morning, the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office announced charges in the July 4 Lake Monroe incident involving Vauhxx Booker.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Sean Purdy has been charged with criminal confinement, battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and intimidation. Jerry Cox has been charged with aiding, inducing or causing criminal confinement, battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, intimidation and battery.

On Thursday, conservation officers with the Indiana DNR who looked at the evidence and conducted interviews, released a report that suggested both sides face charges, but the prosecutor decided to not file any charges against Vauhxx Booker. The report said the argument started over Purdy’s Confederate flag hat, and escalated into a fight, where Booker and Purdy threw punches.

Booker has claimed the group pinned him against a tree and yelled to “get a noose” before he was let go. Purdy’s lawyer says that’s not true, and Booker is the one that instigated the fight.
