Saturday, May 16, America will celebrate Armed Forces Day – a holiday observed in the United States to honor all branches of the armed forces.
Each year there is a theme. The theme of the first Armed Services Day was “Teamed for Defense.”
It is celebrated with military exercises on land, sea and in the air to honor members of the US military and to show off their state-of-the-art equipment to the civilian population it protects.
WIBC host Tony Katz spoke Friday morning with Gen. Stuart Goodwin about how we can honor our service members tomorrow and every day.
Plus, a couple of planned war memorials have been placed on hold while the Coronavirus pandemic plays out. Tony speaks with General Goodwin about the status of those programs and what we can do to provide the crucial and necessary support for their completion.
