Beth Jenkins, from Fishers says that “the international health crisis at hand wasn’t bringing out the best in me, although my husband, an Anesthesiologist at IU Health downtown Indy, kept reassuring me that it wasn’t bringing out the best in anyone!

So she needed to find some good news, and if she couldn’t find it…she’d create it!  Beth said “I can’t sew, so helping create PPE for people wasn’t an option.  But I can screen print!”  Her studio is located safely at home.

Beth, like me is a hugger!  “Touch starvation is a real thing.  It can not only have negative effects on your mental and emotional health, but physical health too.  So I decided to create a tangible way for loved ones to connect even from a distance.”  Beth created a hug in the form of a beautiful soft blanket with the words, “HUGGING YOU“.

Proceeds from blankets sold on her website http://www.shoplivedreams.com are then used to create and donate hugs to healthcare workers and their families.

I just needed to believe a little extra boost from a random act of love and appreciation could do some good“.  The “HUGGING YOU Blankets” have been flying off the shelves!  For moms, dads, grandparents and fellow nurses.  For a friend who lost their loved one…it’s is a wonderful gift.  For every 5 blankets sold, Beth donates 2 to healthcare heroes.
