KOKOMO, Ind. — An Indiana State Police trooper was in a car crash on Monday in Kokomo.
ISP says that Trooper Aaron Schaal, 43, was in his police car on U.S. 931 when he passed through an intersection, and a car driven by Debra Attebury, 62, turned and hit the police car on the driver’s side.
Police say that Schaal had a green light, and Attebury’s light was flashing yellow, meaning she had to yield to oncoming traffic.
Attebury was taken to a Kokomo hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Schaal was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts when the crash happened.
ISP says that Schaal was on-duty at the time of the crash.
