Jeffersonville Man Charged with OWI

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN – A southern Indiana man has been arrested after allegedly striking two pedestrians with his car while driving intoxicated early Friday morning.
According to a news release from the Jeffersonville Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Pearl Street and West Maple Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. for a motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.
At the scene, officers found two unconscious men who were then transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities say one of the victims later regained consciousness but sustained “serious injuries,” while the second victim remains unconscious with no immediate diagnosis available.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Benjamin Fox of Jeffersonville, was found at the scene and taken into custody. He has been booked into the Clark County Jail and is facing multiple charges, including two counts of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury, as well as OWI Endangering and OWI.
The Jeffersonville Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from Indiana State Police.
