Update:

IMPD said both people shot early Saturday morning on the city’s northwest side have died from their injuries.

EMS transported the victims, a man and a younger person, to an area hospital. They were pronounced dead there.

Homicide detectives are investigating. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the names of the victims once family members are notified.

INDIANAPOLIS — One person died after being shot on the northwest side of Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

IMPD Northwest District officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5100 block of W 38th Street just before 4 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found two people who had been shot.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. According to IMPD, one of those two victims was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No other information about the shooting has been released at this time.
