Cierre Wood To Stand Trial For the Murder of a Little Girl in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS –– A former Notre Dame football player will stand trial accused of murdering a little girl.
The charges against Cierre Wood were laid out by a judge Wednesday in Las Vegas. The former running back for the Fighting Irish is charged with murder and nineteen counts of felony neglect.
A judge told Wood in an initial hearing that evidence prvided by detectives and the medical examiner so far have convinced her that Wood and the the child’s mother, LaRayah Davis made the little girl suffer.
She had 20 broken ribs, bruising, internal bleeding and injuries to several organs, says the coroner.
Davis’ own trial will start in August.
Wood went undrafted in 2013 played for three NFL teams after leaving Notre Dame. He also spent some time in the Canadian Football League.
