IMS Museum Announces Plans for Restoration and Event Space in Speedway

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum wants to grow even more.
In a recent news release, the museum announced plans for a new 60,000-square-foot car restoration and event facility located just south of IMS in Speedway. The new facility will also offer rotating exhibits, public tours, and an education program for students interested in automotive engineering and restoration, included with hands-on learning activities.
“We are thrilled to share the location and initial designs for the new Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Restoration and Event Facility,” said Joe Hale, president of Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. “This has always been a plan for the next phase of the Museum, and thanks to the monumental support during our recent capital campaign, we can begin this project this summer.”
The space will have six restoration bays, two detailing bays and an area for vehicle storage.
Construction on the new facility is expected to start this summer with completion projected in late 2026.
