Rickety Rackety Red Line Goes Smash.

Rickety Rackety Red Line Goes Crash.

Gridlock All Over Town After Rickety Breaks Down,

But at Least When He’s Stopped He’s Not Collision Bound.

Yes, the long-awaited (meaning “commuter dreaded”) Red Line is up and running… sort of.

Not even a week into operation, these fabulous hi-tech, low-emission ‘commuter car crunchers’ have already racked up more collisions than the average demolition derby.

Running Tally on Red Line Wrecks (So Far): 3!

All collisions occurred on Capitol Avenue, and all collisions took place prior to the “official” opening.

Drivers were apparently thrown by the fact that these low-emission commuter crushers travel both Northbound and Southbound on Capitol Avenue.

Fortunately, one of the Red Line buses broke down over the weekend, making the streets of Indianapolis a little safer for a few hours.

Fun Game: Enter “Red Line Collision” into Google and note the NUMEROUS body shops served up at the top of your search results. We assume these body shops repair damages beyond those caused by occasionally-functional “hi-tech” commuter buses, but based on week one of IndyGo’s Red Line rollout, we can only assume these businesses are going to be in a new tax bracket next year.

WIBC host Tony Katz discussed the Red Line rollout on his radio show Tuesday morning. Click the link below to hear what he had to say about it.
