LEBANON, Ind. — A man being processed into the Boone Co. Jail spit cocaine into the faces of jail officers Monday night, the Boone Co. Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Jail officers were processing 34-year-old Kevin Lampley, of Indianapolis, after he was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

When Lampley went through a body scanner, officers noticed something in his pants that wasn’t supposed to be there.

Lampley removed two baggies of white powder from his pants and put them in his mouth. When jail officers tried to restrain him and take the baggies away, Lampley spit powder in their faces, the sheriff’s office said.

The powder was tested and turned out to be cocaine.

Three jail officers were checked out by medical personnel after the encounter with Lampley.

The Boone Co. Prosecutor has not said if Lampley will face any additional charges.
