PENDLETON, Ind.–An Aramark employee who worked at the Correctional Industrial Facility in Pendleton was arrested on trafficking charges.
The Indiana Department of Correction says Kevin Lake, 26, was arrested Saturday for trafficking unspecified amounts of controlled substances investigators believe to be suboxone and methamphetamine.
Lake was arrested for one count of trafficking with an inmate, a Level 5 felony. He was taken to the Madison County Jail.
Trafficking in a correctional facility is defined as the act of buying or selling of illegal substances or substances which may be legal but are not permitted in a correctional environment, such as the sale or trade of tobacco products.
“The trafficking of illegal drugs poses a great hazard to our staff and other offenders and will not be tolerated. I am grateful for the diligent work of our investigative staff in following through with this investigation and making an arrest,” says Warden Wendy Knight.
Suboxone is a prescription medicine used to treat adults who are dependent on (or addicted to) opioids (either prescription or illegal).
Aramark is a food service, facilities, and uniform services provider that serves clients in the education, healthcare, business, and corrections fields.
