Peter, Paul and Mary Singer Peter Yarrow Dead at 86

NEW YORK — Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary is dead, according to multiple reports. He reportedly died of bladder cancer at his home in New York City.
The 1960s folk trio were instrumental in helping popularize the work of Bob Dylan. Yarrow also co-wrote the song “Puff, the Magic Dragon.”
In 1969, Yarrow pleaded guilty to taking “immoral and improper liberties” with a child, and over a decade later was pardoned by President Jimmy Carter. He was 86 years old.
