Man Hit and Killed by Train on Indy’s East Side

INDIANAPOLIS — Police say a man was hit and killed by a train on Indy’s east side Saturday.
It happened on East 34th Street around 8:30 p.m.
The man was driving his white Audi, and he drove around the crossing guards to try to beat the train. As he approached the tracks, the train hit him and dragged him about 75 feet down the tracks. After the conductor saw what happened, they immediately stopped the train.
Officers arrived at the scene, and they are looking into this.
