INDIANAPOLIS — Temperatures will drop into the 40s and 30s tonight. Light snow could begin tonight, and rain is already falling, with more expected by Thursday.
Thursday brings the season’s first snow, with steadier snowfall expected by late afternoon. Wet conditions could reduce visibility and slow the evening commute.
“Between noon and 2 p.m., we’ll see precipitation spread across central Indiana, mostly in the form of snow,” said Randy Bowers, a forecaster at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Bowers warns that bridges and overpasses could become slick, and roads will likely stay slippery until treated.
“It doesn’t take long for bridges to freeze — they’re usually the first to show trouble spots,” he added.
Bowers said northern and east-central Indiana areas, including Delphi, Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie, and Winchester, could see accumulations of 1-2 inches by the end of Thursday.
