Halloween Weather

STATEWIDE–You can expect rain Thursday morning in Indiana, but it’s not expected to be a lot.

“The good news for all of the trick-or-treaters is that it looks like the rain will be moving through earlier in the day on Halloween. Once we move toward the evening hours, it looks like it will be all cleared out by then. During the day, though, we’re expecting showers and maybe some storms,” said Greg Melo, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Melo says the rain will start late Wednesday night and go into Thursday. He believes it should rain at some point throughout the whole state.

“It looks like it will continue through the day and then stop by late afternoon,” said Melo.

As for Tuesday and Wednesday, Melo advises you not to burn anything outside because temperatures are warmer than usual for this time of year and wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph at times.

“It will be pretty windy, so make sure you secure any loose objects outdoors. There won’t be any big impacts with the wind, other than the fact that we need to watch out for some fire conditions. You just really shouldn’t burn anything outside for a little bit,” said Melo.

Temperatures will also cool down throughout the week, but then they warm up again.

“By Monday we should have temperatures be back in the upper 60s to mid-70s,” said Melo.
