FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Former professional quarterback and Hoosier native Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday in Tennessee, after police say he was caught driving under the influence…with a gun.
The retired athlete is now facing four charges, including implied consent and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. Following his arrest, he was released on a $5,000 bond.
Cutler, originally from Santa Claus, Indiana, played in the NFL for 12 seasons with the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos.
In recent years, he has been the subject of some scrutiny.
His ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, has called their relationship “toxic,” and rumors have circulated online that he was unfaithful during their marriage. But, he has said that the cheating rumors are false.
