13 Indiana Colleges Awarded More Than $300 Million by Lilly Endowment

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — 13 Indiana schools were awarded a total of more than $300 million by Lilly Endowment in its most recent round of funding. Those grants are intended to support a variety of projects to enhance the quality of life on campus and the surrounding communities.
Indianapolis’s Marian University will use its $25 million grant to establish its Riverside Education Innovation District, that will renovate parts of the LaRue Carter hospital, helping various Indianapolis-based nonprofit organizations to relocate there.
Indiana University in Bloomington is getting $16 million to partially fund the redevelopment of a former industrial area into an innovation district near its campus.
Butler, Depauw, Indiana Wesleyan, Rose-Hulman and Notre Dame also received grants.
Ball State, Earlham, Indiana State, Purdue, Taylor and Wabash College all received grants in previous rounds of funding, according to Lilly Endowment.
