Joseph R. Biden can add another glorious achievement to his list of accomplishments: the highest inflation rate in 40 years!

The consumer price index climbed 7.9% on an annual basis, according to data released on Thursday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Month over month, inflation rose 0.8%.

Nearly every category of goods and services soared from January through February. Gas jumped 6.6% and accounted for almost a third of price hikes. Grocery costs jumped 1.4%, the sharpest one-month increase since 1990, other than during a pandemic-induced price surge two years ago. The cost of fruits and vegetables rose 2.3%, the largest monthly increase since 2010.

As economists predicted, Brandon blamed Putin for everything.

“Today’s inflation report is a reminder that Americans’ budgets are being stretched by price increases and families are starting to feel the impacts of Putin’s price hike,” the person who pretends to be Biden on Twitter wrote. “But I am fighting to bring down the everyday prices that are squeezing Americans,” he added without providing any further details.
