BLOOMINGTON, Ind.–Lance David Ray was wanted for the rape of two teenage boys and the murder of another 20 years ago in Arizona. He was caught in October in Bloomington, and has now been charged with the murder of Delmar Hussein.

Ray, 53, was visiting someone in Bloomington, but has lived many places, including California and Sat. Louis. The FBI believes there may be more victims.

“Earlier this year after all leads were exhausted, it was decided to use a technique of forensic genetic genealogy to see if we could get a person of interest,” said Officer Ed DeCastro, the head of the the Phoenix, Arizona Violent Crimes Unit.

That’s when it was determined that Ray was the suspect.

“The partnership between Peoria (Arizona), FBI and Phoenix led us to going up to Indiana,” said DeCastro, in a news conference held Tuesday in Phoenix.

It was in Peoria, Arizona that a 14-year-old boy was kidnapped and raped. A 17-year-old boy was held at gunpoint and raped in Phoenix. Soon after that, Delmar Hussein, 18, was shot and killed when he resisted Ray, said agents with the FBI.

“It was very hard for most of these years to even see a picture of him without crying,” said Hussein’s mother, Mary Kasle. “I had a psychic tell me that Delmar had contacted her and wanted to get a message to me and wanted me to know that his work right now was as my protector, and it made me so happy to know that.”

Anyone with info is asked to contact the FBI.
