MICHIGANTOWN, Ind. — A small outbreak of coronavirus among students at the Clinton Central School District has forced administrators to move students to remote learning for now.

Superintendent Allen Remaly says the outbreak is at the Junior/Senior High School, but that the closure also includes the elementary school.

In an email to parents, Remaly says 10 students in the districts have tested positive for the virus and contact tracing has revealed that around 25-percent of students at the Junior/Senior High School have possibly been exposed.

“This does not mean that 25-percent of the students have COVID19,” Remaly said in the email. “It means they are considered close contacts and are required to quarantine for 14 days.”

All students at the Junior/Senior High School will be remotely learning for that same period of time. Remaly said elementary school students will have to remotely learn for one week.

Extracurricular activities are canceled and this Friday’s football game against Sheridan will likely be canceled.
