INDIANAPOLIS — They want to keep kids encouraged and out of trouble, that’s the goal of Toe 2 Toe Performing Arts Company in Indianapolis.

They’re offering a 12-week free program, and founder Latoya Dawson told WISH-TV the program was created to expose performing arts to the urban community and make sure kids are doing more than just spending time on the internet.

More than two dozen kids between the ages of 4 to 17 have been attending the program since July, and they’re working on a production that discusses positivity and self-confidence.

“If they don’t have the reason or even the free time to actually engage in any negative activities because they’re here with me engaging in positive activities,” said Dawson.

The program teaches different genres of dance like tap, ballet and hip hop, and different performing arts like improv, poetry, and music.

They’re also offering STEM programs to kids and will help with virtual learning during the week.
