INDIANAPOLIS — A person shot and killed early Wednesday morning on the east side.
Indianapolis Metro Police say the shooting happened near Sheridan Avenue just south of 16th street. Officer William Young says officers got the call just after 4:30 a.m.
After getting to the scene, police said someone had been shot and they were critically injured. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later died. The events leading up to the shooting are unclear.
It’s also not clear if police have any suspects in custody.
