Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden fell silent and was visibly uncomfortable in an interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski Friday as he denied allegations of sexual assault leveled against him by former Senate staffer Tara Reade.

Brzezinski grilled the former Vice President about why he refused to allow a search of his records from three decades as a senator, some of which are kept under seal at the University of Delaware.

“Did you sexually assault Tara Reade?” Brzezinski asked at the beginning of the interview.

“No, it is not true,” the former vice president replied. “I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened and it didn’t. It never happened.”

At one point, Brzezinski began pressing Biden on whether he’d agree to open records that might be held in his archives at the University of Delaware related to Reade. Biden fell silent before stammering his way through a twisted reply that only served to raise more questions.

It was glorious – especially coming from a far-left host on a liberal media outlet.

The interview from Biden’s home studio in Delaware marks the first time he has addressed the allegations, which stem from a 1993 incident the ex-staffer first raised in March.
